BIG news about my Flourish Course and how it is evolving for 2019

Oh, I have so much to tell you!

This week I came back to our sailboat Day Dream in Iluka, after a week visiting family in Queensland. Lacey Jane came with me but Andrew stayed on the boat to make sure we didn’t drag anchor (and hit the rocks!) due to the strong winds we’ve had here lately.

While at my Mum’s I marvelled at having an electric kettle, hot baths, but found it difficult to break now-ingrained habits such as only quarter-filling the kitchen sink to wash dishes, and turning lights off as soon as I left a space.

Life is settling into a lovely groove back onboard the boat now the mast is finished, (it has been like living in a tiny home in the midst of renovations for the past 6 weeks) and the interior has been put back together, including the ceiling, so it feels calm, peaceful and cozy again (instead of hectic, frazzled and crazy-making).

We didn’t know which direction we would head after the boat renovations, whether we would point our nose north or south. But we’ve made a decision and are excited to continue north (but not too far, because, well, cyclone season and all), where we can play around islands such as Moreton, Stradbroke and the many spots in Redland Bay, for a lovely season of summer sailing.

(You can read about how we sold everything and bought a sail boat here)

I also have BIG news about my Flourish Course and how it is evolving for 2019.

Members of Flourish have long been asking for the modules to be extended from one week to one month, giving them more time to luxuriate in the playfulness, curiosity, practices and exploration of each phase. And after listening to their requests and pondering how I could make that happen, I’ve decided to shift the framework for the entire program and turn it into a Year-Long Creativity School, with the addition of community support, live coaching, guest teachers and some brand new material too.

There will be plenty of free goodies coming your way to nurture your creative life in the coming weeks, and an opportunity to join me and a wonderful, warm-hearted community for 12 whole months, where you can make 2019 the year you focus on Creative Living.

We will move gently through four phases, one each quarter — Creative Foundations, Creative Practices, Creative Living & Creative Business.

I’ve had my head down and tail up mapping out the monthly Live Community Call components, inviting Guest Teachers, planning quarterly Virtual Creative Retreats and much, much more. I can’t wait to share this new iteration of Flourish with you, as we move into the fifth year of running this beautiful program, in the most in-depth, community-focused, and live experience ever. I’m SOOOOO excited about it!!!!!

You’ll be hearing more about the new Flourish : The Art of Creative Living – A Year-Long Creativity School soon.

In the meantime, I have two coaching places available between now and the end of the year. If you would love guidance, encouragement, strategy and heart-centred support in your business and creative life, you can find out more details here. You’re welcome to book in a free session where we can chat, share a cup of tea, and see if we are a good fit. I’d be honoured to be part of your journey to help you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Right now, I’m off to help Andrew install some more solar panels (to keep up with our fridge, laptop and camera usage ;).

Have an awesome day!

Be kind to yourself and nurture your creativity,

With love,

Nicola xx

PS. So, in summary, Flourish 2019 is coming!!!!! Bigger and better than ever. And also, I have two coaching spots available. If you’d like to book in a free session with me here to see if we are a good fit. xx

Resources For You… (I’ve been loving these)

A collection of books and resources I’ve found useful & inspiring recently.

Youth Mentor Training – You probably know I adore my friend and fellow Gentle Business Mastermind buddy Amanda Rootsey, and I love the work she puts out into the world. Right now, she is launching her beautiful Youth Mentor Training Program, and you can take her free Quiz and get her free video training series to discover if working with youth would light you up and is right for you.

Milanote – this planning/mind mapping/vision boarding tool is awesome for creatives like us. As I’ve been mapping out Flourish I’ve been using it to plan each monthly theme, the guest teachers and more. Think mind-mapping, but sooooo much more (you can add your own pictures and even entire files!) I’m thankful to our Gentle Business Mastermind member Renee Bell for sharing this resource with us in the community.

Love with a Chance of Drowning – this book is one of my favourites when it comes to sailing, adventures and following your heart (despite feeling all.of.the.fears). Torre DeRoche shares, through her hilarious writing voice, her memoir around meeting a charming man in a bar and just a few months later, embarking on a trans-Pacific crossing, despite being completely terrified of the ocean.

Tiny Beautiful Things – While I was at my Mum’s place I looked through the few shelves of books I’ve kept since selling everything and moving on the boat, and found this lovely compilation of advice on life and love by Cheryl Strayed. Years ago my dear friend Jess Ainscough told me she thought I should buy it because she thought I would love it, and how right she was. I’m rereading it now and find myself smiling, laughing and crying at the truths she reveals in a collection of columns she wrote as the anonymous advice columnist known as Dear Sugar.

The Art of Money – Last week I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Bari Tessler, after years of knowing each online but never actually speaking, for her Guest Mentor call for the Gentle Business Mastermind. Bari’s framework and methodology around money is the most gentle I’ve found and I adore both her book and her podcast as she weaves together mindfulness, practical systems and self-awareness in relation to money. She has a free 7 day e-course you can join too, to deepen your relationship with money too. I highly recommend her beautiful work.

Lastly check out this Blog post – 4 of the Best Self-Nurturing & Common Sense Living Books where I talk about four of the best self-nurturing and common sense living books. These books are ones that sit on my shelf and have brought me so much delight over the years, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
